IPL has been FDA-approved since 1995, and the Icon Max G is one of the most advanced systems available today. It uses a broad spectrum of light to treat both pigmentation and vascular conditions safely and effectively.
IPL works by delivering pulses of light into the skin through a handheld laser device. That light is absorbed by specific targets called chromophores without harming the surrounding tissue.
Every treatment is customizable to what you and your skin needs—your provider adjusts the light’s wavelength, pulse duration, and intensity based on your skin type and condition.

Your provider will assess your skin type and concerns to create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your unique goals.
Your IPL journey starts with a consultation, especially if you are a new patient. During this visit, your provider will take a close look at your skin and review your overall health. This helps them understand your unique needs and explain what kind of results you can expect based on your skin tone and condition.
On the day of your treatment you will arrive early for a numbing cream to be applied before the treatment begins. Protective goggles will be worn to safeguard your eyes from the laser. Once your skin is ready, the IPL treatment will begin. After it’s finished, your provider will gently cleanse your skin and give you clear instructions for caring for it at home. You’ll also learn what to expect in the days after your session—like how your skin may react and what signs to look out for as it heals.
