I’ve already posted a review praising Dr Sarah Yagerman for her professional excellence and natural empathy. I’d also like to praise the practice’s office staff and medical assistants for their abiding efficiency and helpfulness. The patient starts being cared for immediately upon entering the office. He's comforted by the atmosphere of calm and order, and by the friendly welcome from a member of the office staff. He then takes a seat to wait for his doctor’s medical assistant to summon him. Unlike at any other doctor’s office he's visited, it’s quite pleasant to wait here. The office staff and the other patients are unusually animated and personable. The patient’s next interaction is with his doctor’s medical assistant, who is reassuringly conversant with his medical history, earnestly concerned about his welfare, and able to temper procedure with sensitivity and friendless. The patient has been well prepared for the climax of the visit, his doctor’s attentive examination and precise evaluation. This, as I say in my earlier post, Dr Yagerman accomplishes with humor and grace. I have called her the ideal physician. The practice is also ideal. Before coming to Upper West Side Dermatology, I never thought I would enjoy a visit to the doctor’s office.

I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. James Shea and Upper West Side dermatology. Scheduling both a skin exam and a minor cosmetic procedure were all relatively quick and easy. The front desk staff at both locations were very friendly and welcoming. Both medical assistants I’ve encountered thus far were also very kind. Both my appointments were on time , one I was actually called back early(that never happens anywhere!) At many medical groups I know providers aren’t able to spend as much time as they’d like to with patients so I would have all your questions prepared ahead of time. Im always a little nervous at my routine skin exams due to family history but upon meeting Dr. Shea I felt calmer. He has a caring and warm demeanor. Dr. Shea overall has excellent bed side matter. He explained everything in detail but in a clear concise manner. After my exam Dr. Shea made sure my concerns were addressed. The visit was very efficient but didn’t feel rushed which I can be hard thing to balance for many Doctors but Dr. Shea did just that. Highly recommend!

Dr Travis is outstanding in every respect- she is expert medically, attentive, careful, thoughtful , takes time to listen to your questions, needs and concerns- responding and explaining. Personable, thoughtful and kind.

Dr. Rothman didn’t he most thorough annual hear-to-toe exam that I have had. Her answers to my questions were clear and helpful. I’ll be back again next year!

Very nice staff. Dr Yagerman is a star. Excellent at all she does. For me, she has diagnosed basal cells, removed irritating spots from my face, and done annual full body check up. I highly recommend her and the practice.
