Dr. James Shea

After completing his bachelor’s degree, he decided to stay in his hometown of Buffalo, NY to pursue his medical degree at the State University of New York in Buffalo. He completed a pediatrics residency at the Ann and Robert H Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago where he discovered that dermatology was his true passion, combining his love of use of visual diagnostic clues, procedural skills, and opportunities to make long lasting relationships with his patients.

Dr. Shea stayed at Lurie Children’s Hospital to complete a fellowship in pediatric dermatology before moving back to the East Coast to complete his dermatology residency at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA where he also served as Chief Resident in his final year of residency. Dr. Shea’s interests are broad and include pediatric dermatology, particularly birthmarks and infantile hemangiomas.

Dr. Shea also has interests in alopecia, acne, psoriasis, as well as cosmetics procedures, including neuromodulators such as Botox, fillers, and lasers.

Outside of work, Dr. Shea enjoys traveling, trying new cuisine, and spending time with his family.
